I got my diagnosis late in life at 32 years old. They did try to diagnose me as a kid, but back then, autism as a spectrum did not exist. While today, I continue to hear: "everyone got autism now." Times change and I understand that. I have lived a heavy life filled with struggles. The only reason I was looking to get a diagnosis as an adult was because there were simply things I could not change. It is generally hard for a neurodivergent to live in a neurotypical world. It becomes far worse when we lack a definition for it, and continue to define it by symptoms and therefore subjectively. We are all humans and not that different, but there are also fundamental differences. If we lack a common simple explanation, we will continue to lack understanding and compassion on a larger scale as well as integration into society. A loneliness and alienation that literally kills the neurodivergent community and separates us from the rest of society. This is what I wish to adress.

Note: This is a work in progress.
A little bit of my story and intention.
A brief summarization of the history of autism and adhd. There are some interesting notes to take away from it and how it is developing.
Science tries desperately to find a cause for Autism and ADHD. Meanwhile psychology is stuck with symptoms and correlations without a firm definition of what it actually is.
Disorder, genes and trauma are entangled. This makes the subject complex and I feel a discussion and reflect on diffrences are needed.
Autism and ADHD overlap intensely and I believe they are at a fundamental level the same thing. ADHD should be a part of the autism spectrum.
A list of autism and ADHD traits and how 42% more input can explain them both and show how they are simply ways genes take expression and function.
How is a disorder like Autism common in the most intelligent humans we know, while at the same time being the cause of others to not be able to talk or walk? How can a disorder like ADHD be common in successful entrepreneurs and at the same time be common in prisoners?
There are ways to stabilize these disorders although they will always be present and never fundamentally change. Equilibrium is reached by accommodating who you are and not trying to become something else.
Autism and ADHD are genetic disorders and in other words mutations. Mutations have an evolutionary function and they could be a part of the evolution of humans.
